The House

La Grande Quercia B&B is situated within the rolling hills of Abruzzo, a short drive from the bustling provincial capital of Teramo. Our house is surrounded by farmland and was once the primary farmhouse for all of the land around us. We are not sure when the house was originally built, but we have found some dates scratched on the brickwork and imprinted on the inside of some of the old roof tiles, which lead us to believe its’ origins date from around 1880.

We have arranged the house into three parts. On the one side is our home, on the other, through a connecting door, the main area of the B&B. and the third space is the independent Bella Vista Suite

Entering past the stunning oak tree you are welcomed into the house. The ground floor space comprises our reception, a lounge where you can relax in the evening on the comfortable sofa’s with a glass of wine and a good book. We will greet you each morning in the breakfast area with fresh coffee, juices and a selection of fresh pastries, breads and yogurts. We are more than happy to cater for any specific dietary needs and just ask we be notified in advance of your stay.

On the first floor are three en-suite bedrooms. We have two Classic double bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms, the third room is our Superior Classic double bedroom. This room has a larger en-suite bathroom with a beautifully tiled walk-in shower and stunning views looking out to the mountains.

Our heated swimming pool is available for you to enjoy. It is located in a sheltered position, offering privacy and quiet - perfect for sunbathing on days where you don’t wish to venture out.

Large pool towels can be provided, free of charge, on request.

La Bella Vista Suite

Superior Classic Room

Standard Classic Room

This tranquil and beautiful suite is independent from the main house. It offers privacy and peace in a luxury open space. This large room has been designed to allow our guests a space to relax and wind down after a day exploring the region.

The suite is fully air conditioned with a full stocked honesty bar that has a selection of local wines, plus water and soft drinks. A low standing queen size bed with memory foam mattress promises you a blissful nights sleep. An enclosed shower in a spacious bright bathroom awaits you in the morning with complimentary shampoo and shower gel. A wall mounted hairdryer is also provided.

This is one of the larger rooms in our house and has views into our garden and across to the mountains of Monti Gemelli.

The large en-suite bathroom is fitted with all the usual amenities, including a hairdryer and has a lovely walk in shower.

This room does not have air-conditioning, but we have installed a very effective quiet 3 speed ceiling fan for those occasional extra warm summer nights,

This comfortable Classic Room in the main house provides the same facilities as the Superior Room, but with a smaller en-suite bathroom with a box shower.

This room has a window overlooking our garden.
